A Vending Mission
Global Game Jam 2018
Given the theme of "Transmission", our group took the idea of working together in harmony to create a successful transmission as our concept. A multiplayer co-op game that requires teamwork resembles cogs and gears working cohesively within a machine
This year, as the level designer, I got 2 other members to work on levels as well, but as the team lead, I also had a total of 13 people in the group, which meant A LOT of opinions. So to set a boundary for the millions of ideas and to make it easier to come to conclusions, I decided to make use of some diversifiers to create some limitations for our game.
Eventually, we managed to apply 3 diversifiers:
ACCESSIBILITY
+One tap for all - Create a game which can be played with one single well-timed tap/click.
DESIGN
+Under the Influence - The main character or vehicle can only be controlled indirectly. Example: placing barriers or obstacles to influence the movement.
+Created by Warren Robinett - Your game contains some kind of hidden secret or Easter egg.
Our game just requires 1 button per player, with a total of 4 players, each representing a color in the game that appears on activatable obstacles. Obstacles appear with a different combination of colors every time and only activate when their corresponding colors are pressed.

Yes. I do realize that this game can just be played with 1 player since there are only 4 buttons...
BUT, the challenge comes later when obstacles are designed in tight sequence, which should give the players a harder time.
